Coming Back 04:39
Sailor, won’t you save me It’s cold down here, I’m running out of air. Doctor, won’t you heal me. they told me I was fine, still I’m aching all the time. It’s been a couple years, tearing pages out of here, Our eyes open we’re coming back Blank pages there for days Almost found a different way Lost focus And we’re coming back Teacher, won’t you teach me lost the will to write, blank pages every night Old friend, won’t you help me Find my pen, I lost back then It’s been a couple years, I’ve been tearing pages out of here, Our eyes open we’re coming back Blank pages there for days Almost found a different way Lost focus But we’re coming back Back Back Lately, it’s getting better One song at a time, this sadness we climb Better, than ever Heart’s healing anew, music keeps us close to you

In a terrifying way He hits the windshield and he makes a funny face The car that crushes him won’t stop to see if they Can help to undo damage done in any way Like a pigeon left to die A broken wing down on the sidewalk for awhile And all the busy people look but pass him by There is no time for this so pay the bird no mind Like all the little things- All the other little things left behind A little girl with a pink balloon Waits for the bus with mom and sees him too “Hey mom that bird looks sad and hurt and cannot move Is there something we can do? Hey mom?” With momma on the phone In tears can hear the words foreclosure and no home She doesn’t ever hear just what her girl is saying Then the bus arrives and takes them both away. Like all the little things All the other little things taken away. I cannot fix your wing so I will leave you in the curb I don’t have any time for this and cannot be disturbed If you should die here overnight under these orange city skies I will pray for you and mourn for you in early morning light I will call for god to take you up and cover you with love And you can fly among the ghosts and see your old world from above I feel sure that all the angels will come by to hear you sing And I will rot in hell Because I cannot fix your little broken wing. Like a pigeon left to die A broken wing down on the sidewalk for awhile And all the busy people look but pass him by There is no time for this and pay the bird no mind Like all the little things- All the other little things left behind

This beat up guitar has served me well The strings are old and it’s time for a trade The tour’s taken its toll, it’s looking kinda old It’s time I’m afraid. This car’s pushing two hundred thousand miles Rusty paint and the transmission’s broke The last time we tried, we only got to Blythe We only needed a few more miles Take care of the things that treat you well Before they get too old and bid you farewell You wouldn’t come this far without them there They bid you farewell These pets will grow old soon Loved you for their whole life Love you can’t repay You’ve felt it since the first day they saw you Take care of the things that treat you well Before they get too old and bid you farewell You wouldn’t come this far without them there They bid you farewell Beat up and broken is just another way to say I loved these things from the first day Old and tired is just another way they go into our memories Take care of the things that treat you well Before they get too old and bid you farewell You wouldn’t come this far without them there They bid you farewell

Where do the parents go When you’re all grown up? Where do the mentors go When you’ve learned too much Where do the lovers leave When the flame’s died down What do the children see When the circus leaves town Where do they go? Why do they leave These people you know Are they still here? Where do your friends go When they move away Where does the sun go When the skies turn to gray Where do your dreams go Where you’re wide awake Where does your love go When your heart breaks Where do they go? Why do they leave These people you know Are they still here? Where does the pain go When the drugs take hold Where does your health go When your bones grow old Where does the rain go When it’s all dried up How does the wine taste at the bottom of your cup So many questions Looking for answers Leave a little room to find it together Where do your siblings go when they don’t know you anymore Where do the veterans go When they return from the war Where do the sailors sail When they’ve caught their final fish What does the genie do When he grants his final wish Where do they go? Why do they leave These people you know Are they still here? So many questions Looking for answers Leave a little room to find it together So many questions Not enough chances to find it together

about

We play melodic folk rock that sits somewhere between the old school classic folk rock of Fleetwood Mac and the modern country pop of Brandi Carlile. We'd like to think we play music for anyone who can relate to strong harmonies, rich acoustic/electric guitar blends and popular song structure.

We recorded this album from summer 2015 to 2016. Originally intended to be a quick EP project it evolved into something much greater and more important to us as a band.

It includes our single “Coming Back” about the path we took as we struggled to put the band back together after Alan’s death. We like to think of it as a cathartic closure to a new beginning because if it weren’t for this song none of the other new ones would’ve ever been written. I (Björgvin) struggled with writer’s block for about 3 years after Alan’s death in 2011 and it took this song to bring me out of it. We're really happy to finally be able to put it on an album alongside all of the other songs we've played and written throughout the years.

The final song on the album, "Something (All Around the World)" was recorded with the Tucson High orchestra in the spring of 2016 at Saint Cecilia Studios. I contacted Jessica Breen, one of the conductors on a whim to see about the possibility of getting the kids involved.

Bob Hanshaw) arranged the score for us and we rehearsed a couple times at the high school before bringing them into the studio to record. They had a great time and loved the fact that they could "legally" skip school to go record at the studio (the free pizza probably also helped!).

It was an overall win-win-win situation because the kids got introduced to the possibility of career musicianship, we ended up with a great final song to the album and our donation to the school at the end of the year is eligible for an AZ tax credit.

Thank you to everyone involved with the production process and their talented musicianship who played on the following tracks:

Special Thanks: Nancy and David Rodriguez, Liz Pocock, Eric Schaffer, Steven Lee Tracy, Alan’s family, KXCI, Jessica Breen and the Tucson High Orchestra Department, and all the other friends, family and fans who have supported us throughout the years.
